You said native mexicans and you put a slash in between europeans and spanish, im guessing you havent taken a history course in a long time. There werent any mexicans back then and the spanish is europe. The natives of America did not go to Europe to trade did they? Trading had gone on within American for thousands of years before the Europeans arrived.

you can't say the aztecs or mayans weren't more advanced than the ancient filipinos! in fact, they were MUCH more advanced. you know what killed off the aztecs? disease from the spaniards, other enemy indian tribes who sided with the spaniards to get back at the aztecs and of course, the spaniards and their modern weaponry.

the aztecs built such a civilization that the ancient filipinos can only dream of!

If they were so advance why have they been conquered easily, it took only a few hundred Spaniards to slay a thousand Aztec soldiers. Aztec and the Mayans were advance in math and engineering but very poor in weaponry and technology. The Mayans and the Aztecs lacked trade, the reason why they were still using stones to defend themselves. The Philippine natives TRADED with the chinese, thus having all sort of advanced weaponries including our very own Kris and Bolos (remember who invented the bolo punch Ceferino Garcia). At the first sign of oppression, the Philippine natives slayed Magellan, the Spanish leader who first set foot in the island.

Again, the Indians of America were conquered by Europe because they did not have the antibodies to fight of diseases that came from the Western hemisphere. They did not kill 90% of the indians, diseases did. The native peoples of America had vast systems of trade, WITHIN AMERICA. How the **** would they trade with China, c'mon man. The Philippines did kill Magellan the first Spanish conquistador to arrive ther, but was that the end of Spanish rule over the Philippines? nope.

it was cultural more than weaponry. although having armor and guns certainly didn't hurt any. the fighting styles of tribes were more ritualistic than murderous like the europeans practice.

most tribes didn't really have professional armies so when they fought each other it was limited and more ritual-like and skirmish-like. the western way of fighting from the ancient greeks forward were more murderous and intent on killing large numbers of people. it didn't help that they brought disease that natives didn't have immunity to. that's what really killed a lot of people. they used to give blankets infected with small pox or other disease to native americans for example as "gifts" and wipe them out.

I didn't say that....I just picked where the Mexican natives were advanced (math, engineering, architecture) but you have to admit to the fact that the aztecs/Mexican ancients were poor in defending themselves. I don't know anything about any diseases the Spaniards brought, but Cortez' 400 hundred soldiers slayed 40 thousand of the aztecs, almost annihillating the race. (all within a year. The Spaniards had a harder time with the Philippine natives because there were rebellions everytime. In fact the southern part of the country was never conquered by the Spaniards. There were a lot of Spaniards killed in that area.
