I didn't say that....I just picked where the Mexican natives were advanced (math, engineering, architecture) but you have to admit to the fact that the aztecs/Mexican ancients were poor in defending themselves. I don't know anything about any diseases the Spaniards brought, but Cortez' 400 hundred soldiers slayed 40 thousand of the aztecs, almost annihillating the race. (all within a year. The Spaniards had a harder time with the Philippine natives because there were rebellions everytime. In fact the southern part of the country was never conquered by the Spaniards. There were a lot of Spaniards killed in that area.

when magellan got killed he wasn't just fighting lapu lapu warriors with spanish soldiers. magellan was fighting with soldiers from another filipino tribe that were rivals of lapu lapu.

my aztec history is kinda rusty and limited but it wouldn't surprised me if they pitted aztecs against other aztecs.
