The spanish didn't name us. We were Aztec when we were in America and Mexica when we went to Mexico. Mexica as in Mexikano not sure i spelled it right. But Mexikano is an indegneous word and one that the Aztec called themselfs. The spanish didn't name us. The spelling may be differnt but the pronounciation isn't.

From Mexikano, you get Chicano or as you may see it written sometimes XIKANO. In Nahuatel the "X" has two pronounciations. 1. as in "S" 2. as in "CH.
