There are numerous double standards here, but the Calzaghe-PBF one takes the cake

It's a shame that Calzaghe's current actions aren't getting more scrutiny especially in light of everyone's opinion of Floyd Mayweather, but he is truly making a mockery of the sport with his actions to finish his career.

Calzaghe is choosing to fight Roy Jones because he is a four-weight world champion, but somehow omits the fact that Roy Jones hasn't been the same fighter for over 4 YEARS. He got brutally knocked the **** out two times in a row, lost a lopsided decision in the final chapter of trilogy, cruised to two decisions versus complete bums, and then another decision over a guy that spent the last 3 years watching fights instead of participating in them. Yet, everyone allows this to happen because they have some sort of nostalgic crush on Roy Jones that will never fade. Well, I have news for you folks...Roy IS done...Roy HAS been done.

You guys do realize that De La Hoya is a SIX weight champion, right? That didn't seem to matter when Mayweather fought him or wanted to fight him again, so why does Jones' legacy matter when his prime ended 4 years ago?

Please don't give this bull**** that we've never seen Calzaghe-Jones, so that's why it's allowed because it is a complete cop-out. Mayweather retires instead of fighting a young, prime, hungry champion in Cotto and he is labeled a coward, a chump, a runner. Calzaghe chooses to fight an old, over-the-hill Jones and retire instead of a young, prime, hungry, champion in Pavlik and it is considered plausable.

    Shameful, just shameful.

    Sound Argument...

The only Problem is that Calzaghe is not Mayweather.
Just like Kobe is not Jordan

    Like they say:
You cant Compare the Moon to the Sun although they both bring light to the world....

Calzaghe is not 31 years old and in his prime
    Mayweather is....

So although I am a Mayweather Supporter I can understand the difference..
and I will be fair in saying that we can hold Calzaghe to a different standard...

Although There is Alot of Double Standards when it Comes to Mayweather.

Floyd Mayweather & Joe Calzaghe are great champions! Any loser on this website who tries to disrespect either 1 of them should not be taken seriously.

So what? Bernard Hopkins' greatest accomplishments came between the ages of 35-43. He just won the biggest fight of his life, are you saying he's too old for Pavlik...hahaaa.

by far the best Calzaghe has looked in his career was against Kessler, so he is not far from his prime.

some fighters are in their prime at such late ages. Hopkins was in his prime around the 34-36 age I think as well. Calzaghe didnt have an incredibly hard career overall, so it kind of makes sense.

hes going to start slipping soon, hes getting to the age where all fighters start to go downhill, regardless of how damaging their careers were.

He is 36 years old, Let's be reasonable, He is not in his physical Prime.
And his situation is not the same as Mayweather.
