i agree his issues are more balance than chin. Against Edison miranda who is a proven power puncher he was extremely focused and took everything miranda had to offer. against taylor the only time he had problems is when he lost focus and tried to talk **** and got knocked down. and i always find it wierd when people use calzaghe and say he has a good chin he has also been knocked down and got up no faster than pavlik did and against bernard hopkins and eubanks who both at the time werent known as power punchers. Someone has yet to explain the difference when he got up from his knockdowns no faster than pavlik. please someone explain...please.

Royce, Jermain Taylor had horrible balance but has only been down once....with Pavlik, I think it's a chin issue not a balance one.

Ok thats a pretty bad comparison because Taylor has been knocked out....cold pavlik has not. other than pavlik what other legitimate hard puncher has taylor fought? and outside of that one flurry which was about 17 to 20 flush shots taylor hit him with some other bombs later in the fight and they had no affect on pavlik can you explain that to me?

I don't know about his chin being trash, but he has shown vulnerability to being hit, and going down. But folks, this is boxing. You can't use technique every time out, you can't stand up to every punch, and you can't look perfect for every fight. All we can do as fans is see how he reacts to a big puncher. So far PAv has gotten up, and won.

I just have a hard time accepting something that is so circumstantial. Its hard for me to believe someone has a bad chin having taken shots and knocking out the hardest puncher in his division and how long ago were the knockdowns outside of Taylor's? how many total? its just hard for me to go with the whole soft chin argument of someone who has been knocked down but no where close to being knocked out.

Well as much as I dislike Pavlik WLAD OWNS...I will agree with you on one thing my friend....He and every boxer from 112 to heavyweight currently active has a better chin that Vladimir Klitchko.

He is the poster child for glass chins.
