It was recently revealed by Goossen-Tutor that Top Rank turned down a possible bout between WBO welterweight champion Paul Williams vs. WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik. Williams was willing to move up by two weight classes to make the fight. Williams is seen as a welterweight freak due to his physical dimensions. That was an unexpected piece of news.... I thought it was a spam thread at first.
Pavlik would destroy Paul Williams. Paul is tall but he doesn't always fight like a tall fighter and he has a sub-par jab IMO. Why would Williams want to move up with the big boys if he can make the WW limit?Comment
