I also believe this fight can happen at 160, Williams wouldnt have to kill himself to make 160 so he would be better than him competing at 147. The only problem is pavlik wouldnt get enough credit if he beats williams.
i was 75% sure you were joking... but i was like... wait... is he serious?
lol, i figured. Roy would be landing sneaky lead rights at will against zag. HOWEVER, I'm sure if they fight in the UK, Zag'll win based on sheer volume of "punches".
Now, back to the topic at hand....
I'm glad P Will isnt fighting Pavlik. Moving to MW is one thing.......... moving to MW to fight Pavlik is a different ball game.
I find it amusing that Goossen says Pavlik is scared of Williams and then goes on to say things like what happened to the real champions like Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, etc. Kelly Pavlik is one of those champions. He doesn't run from anyone. A cheap way for Goossen to beef up his man if you ask me, and Williams doesn't need it.
I agree! If Williams wants to move back to MW, great! Fighting the undisputed MW in your first fight jumping two classes up in weight just seems dangerous though!
Anyway, I think Williams should fight the winner of Cotto Marg first to settle things at WW. Maybe he's really having a tough, tough time making weight and doesn't want to do it anymore..
I agree about fighting the Cotto/Margarito winner.
If the weight is killing him he should move up to 154. He could actually have moderate success there before risking his health against the bigger punchers at 160. I think Williams could potentially take some of the 154 champs like Mora and Phillips. He should stay away from Alcine though.
Wow, Paul can't get props for wanting to fight a big guy. lol He gets belittled for fighting in a division guys say he doesn't belong fighting in. Some of you guys trip me out lol. I hate Arum's business tactics. He is a piece of !@#$@#!$. Paul is willing to put himself on the line against a middleweight. Did Pav just duck Williams??? lol.
OK?? your post doesn't really make much sense, first of all Williams is an oddity and to a huge degree a disadvantage against any Welterweight because of his size, he is practically cheating his way in that weight division.
As stated here before he started fighting at 160 which is more likely his true weight class so why do the fans need to give props to a guy who is "willing" to challenge the MW champion at his real weight? he is not going all and beyond to fight him, this is just a Goossen tactic to make it seem that Pavlik is trying to duck him, nobody is going to fall for that ****, just a bull**** excuse to try to raise his "stock".
If he wants Pavlik then move up in weight and see how good he can do at 160, I doubt he will last long in that weight anyway. And another thing how is he putting himself on the line? he wants a big payday, that's all.
