It is interesting how some boxers are able to command more attention than others at that start of their careers. Look at De La Hoya and Andre Ward. Both came out of the Olympics with gold medals for the U.S. but De La Hoya he had an incredible media buzz from day one. I still remember his first fight that was broadcast on national TV. As for Ward, you pretty much have to be a huge fan of the sport to even know who he is.

Be it good, bad, or indifferent for whatever reasons some boxers just have the “it” factor that the media and fans are looking for. Heck, some boxers never able to attain it no matter what they do.

You put it perfectly, Oscar was followed around like a teenage pop star, Some boxers just have the IT factor about them while some dont.

its all gd people saying this n that about khan fighting bums. warren isnt exactly challenging him at the moment as he likes to protect his fighters 0 which is kinda gay. its good that khan is coming out and saying that he wants world title fights. shows he has got ambition

i think alot of people forget why khan is famous in the first place, and thats for getting a silver in the olympics and beating a world class opponent in amature boxing called 'mario kindelin'.

Don't get me wrong though, khan still has far to go in a very hard division.

He needs some more experience first. He's not ready for the elite level yet.

At this point, he is not yet ready for a world title, no matter what Khan says! Give him some tougher oppositions, not "has-been" and "bum" fighters!
