Amir Khan: "I'm ready f'world title now"

After last Saturday night's spectacular fifth round TKO of Michael Gomez, young contender Amir Khan insisted he was ready for a title shot in an exclusive interview with popular website www.madeupinterviews.com

"I know I'm ready, like", Amir revealed, "look at us on Saturday. I was in a tough, competitive fight with a British title level featherweight who had some big wins and stuff five years ago. The fact that I can get knocked down by someone like that and yet get back up and win is dead good, innit?"

To further enhance his credentials as a warrior, Khan reflected upon earlier ring wars he'd been involved in: "Yeah, remember when I were in wit' Willie Limond, that Scottish lad? I mean, people said to us that Willie Limond wasn't a big puncher or owt, but he nearly knocked me the **** out so he must be, innit?"

"I was driving up to Frank's in me car really fast this morning thinking about stuff like that," reflected Amir, "and he's saying he's gonna get us some more tough competition just to show how good I am. He reckons there's a bantamweight out there who once challenged for the commonwealth title in the 1980s... he sounds dead tough, innit? Wikkid."

He's havin a laugh, he was knocked down by a slap from Gomez. He will have a nasty shock if he faces a toe 2 toe with somebody like Katsidis.
Another 2 years he'll be ready.

p.s I know this is a sarcastic post.

maybe thats exactly what he needs, someone to teach him a lesson so he can get over himself and all the hype and just get on with being the talented boxer we can see that he has the potential to be.

It just annoys me that he's getting paid and bringing in audiences as if he's had 44 wins and 0 loses and a few world titles under his belt. Unbelievable.

lol, yea i know ... what really amused me was the " they all get a good 8 weeks notice and come in fresh to fight me" statement .... he is definately believing the hype and that will be his downfall. I really would like to see him fight someone live who has rocks for fists .... get beatdown and then come back without his 0 and a little bit more humble, would do him the world of good IMO.

It's terrible isn't it, I don't like saying this, but I agree. I want to see him get beat and then he comes back a better fighter.

Khan actually believes in his own hype, which is worrying, Warren secretly knows how good he actually is therefore he's giving him bum fights for the moment. Khan is no Prince Naseem.

Don't get me wrong, he's a huge prospect with good training, but Khan needs a reality check.

This hate towards Khan is incredible. "Khan believes his own hype, I want so see him knocked out". How do you know what Khan believes, why do you want to see him get knocked out?

This 'Hype' about him, what is it really? Is he or is he not the best prospect we have in the UK? Does he not have incredible physical gifts and plenty of talent? Does he not look like he will probably get a world title in the future?

Its not really hype when everything said about him is true. No one says he's perfect, its all just potential, and he has flaws, but i do not understand the hatred he seems to attract.

                  Yeah, exactly my thoughts....

Hes got talent but a cant stand him, the ITV commentators piss me off, they dont stop licking the guys balls.....all these yes men and hype monkeys in his ear wont help him one little bit...he needs to be humbled, a 1st round KO loss to PAC-MAN would be nice to watch

I'm not Khan bashing. The reason why I say he believes in his own hype is because at the end of his fights he BIGS UP his opposition beyond belief which is almost laughable. I can't remember what he said about Gomez after the fight but it was utter verbal crap, and if you don't follow boxing you'd actually believe it.
After every fight Khan is always saying 'I'm ready, I'm ready for a world title shot!!" ...no Amir you're not. It's probably due to his auntrage, family and part-time boxing followers that big him up so much he actually believes he could beat Pac or Diaz.

Don't get me wrong, I love his attitude, but it's getting annoying now (like i said earlier) he's getting paid obscene amounts of money to fight bums and big up them bums to high heaven after every fight.
