Who's the linear lightweight champion if Manny Pacquaio beats David Diaz....

....and Juan Manuel Marquez beats Casamayor? Since the fight between Marquez and Pacquaio was so close apart. If both Marquez and Pacquaio win their perspective opponents who would be the lineal lightweight champion?

ummm...... do you know what linear means?

casa is the linear champ. if juanma beats him he's the new linear champ.

what does manny and juanma's fight at 130 have to do anything with it?

Do you think Marquez can beat Casa?? I think he can so it'll be real irritating to hear the mexicans say Pacman is going after the 140 lineal champ cuz he's ducking the 135 lineal champ again

Marquez would become the linear champion because Casamayor is the current linear champion.

i think it's 50/50. i know it's gonna be a boring , ugly fight though. i think both are gonna stand around and wait for the other guy. but you never know......

it doesn't matter what they say. there's just people that will say bad things about a guy no matter what. if joe louis or ali or robinson were fighting today you'd find people that say joe is overrated or ali is ducking so and so and that robinson is overrated.

besides even if he goes to 140 he's not staying there. he'll go back to 135.

the juan ma fight will happen no matter what. too much money in the rubber match. the reason uncle bob is not jumping at it yet is because there's so much money in manny right now. if he loses to juan ma right now the fight with hatton or juan diaz or guzman or whomever will suffer , financial-wise.

no matter if juanma losses to casa or manny loses to juan diaz or hatton , the fight with juanma will still be big $$$$$$. not fighting juan ma right away makes sense from bob's point of view.

I have serious doubts that Pacquiao's power will carry up to 140. He should focus on making 135 his permanent home.

              me too.

but you have to understand from bob's point of view.

a loss at 140 to hatton making $10 million is better than a win at 135 against casamayor for $4 million.

besides he jumps to 140 once. he losses and goes back to 135 and takes his $10-12 million with him. he lost to the lineal junior welter champ. doesn't exactly hurt his resume but in fact helps it if he is somewhat competitive.

I understand his motivation for moving up for one fight, and that's fine if he does it. He should not stay there though, although I fear that he might. Pacquiao has a bit of a lazy streak in him and has ballooned up in weight hugely over the years. After getting a taste of it he may simply not feel like cutting to 135 anymore and just campaign at 140, for good or ill.

he can't stay at 140. he won't stay at 140.

fighting a 5'6 hatton at 140 is one thing. besides at least he has a speed and reach advantage over the hitman.

fighting 5'10 guys at 140 who cut 20-25 lbs. is another.

i just don't see bob keeping him at 140. fights against juan , juan ma , joan , edwin , joel at 135 is much more profitable and easier than fighting anyone at 140.

Campbell is the CHAMPION at lightweight anyway, so I don't really care.
