What's with all the hate for Andre Berto???

He's an exciting fighter to watch. He has excellent power and speed, and has shown that his defense has vastly improved. He shows up to take his opponent out, rather than pity patting his way to a points victory.

All i see is certain posters talking about how the kid is garbage, and how he will get killed by the top WW competition. I really dont understand why everyone isnt behind the kid and supporting him. Its not as if he's claiming to be the best in the world. He's said himself that he's still learning etc..

Although i agree that he needs to step up his competition, i still feel that the kid will make a big impact in the WW division. Give the guy a chance, and stop being so critical. Its almost as if certain posters are sour about the fact that he has taken Floyd's place in the WBC rankings.

if he keeps improving and stepping up in competition he can be a force at WW.

He's obviously not as gifted/talented as floyd mayweather but while watching him fight stylistically and what talent he does have i believe he fights in the style many WISH floyd would have fought in...

someone who has good defense and pure boxing ability but also steps in close and ****s with you.

just something i thought should be noted...berto is a less talented/skilled mayweather who has the will to actually FIGHT...not just put on his running shoes for 12 rounds.

Berto is only 24 years Old....come on now People got to understand that he is still learning how to fight....
But i Will say this...If berto would focus more on guarding his chin more when he does his half shoulder rolls.....His defense would be a whole lot better....
And he could be in way better position to land his uppercuts....

I think Berto needs to test himself now...with a fighter like Gomez....
to see where he is really at in this division...

I think is because hes getting a lot of exposure... while others that have been a long time in the game.. have none... i think thats the main reason....

my opinion on him... . he has mad skillz... i know he's still in development.... he will be better with other company... IMO.... dibella is not a good promoter for him... i bet his going to screw his career

Berto is one of the hottest young fighters in Boxing, people hate on him for fighting "Bums". They turn around and say the top guys would blow him out the water, talk about some ****** ass logic. They all believe you should throw the prospects to the wolves and see if they can survive, ofcourse if they lose they were "Exposed" and "Bums".

Thats how i felt, i was very confused when i saw the hate on here, people claiming he would lose to every top WW in the division, i like his chances against most any of them, hes a good young fighter, he won by vicious KO which usually means good things on here, instead hes torn to shreds for doing what he was supposed to do.

i agree to a degree. he should test himself but not against gomez.. gomez is a d level fighter c- at best.. berto is a champion so he needs to step up his opposition

Berto holds a title without ever having fought anyone. I don't hate the guy, but I also think the top 6 WW's would beat him at this stage in his career.
