Who's got the better defense Arthur or Winky?

I actually explained this to a friend tonight.

Abraham's defense is top notch (although counterpunches don't seem to flow from it as well as they do from Wright) when it comes to defending his head.

He doesn't block body shots that well though. His short, stubby arms let a ton of body shots through from Miranda tonight, and I don't think Miranda is really known as a great body puncher.

I'd say Winky, but obviously, I'm probably going to be a bit biased on this question, so...

Dear god, already it's started. Man, Abraham defense compared to Winky's is like comparing Corey Spinks' defense to Mayweathers. They really are on different levels...Or Wright is on another level from Abraham.

See, Wright can cover up and not get hit at all by guys like Mosley, Trinidad etc etc all the while popping out perfect counter punches and basically being on the offensive the whole time. Abraham can only cover up well when he is not throwing at all. When he goes on the offensive he leaves himself wide open and any good counter puncher will exploit that badly. He's only hard to hit when he's not doing anything apart from curling up in a little ball. Even then, he leaves his body wide open unlike Wright who covers his entire body with his elbows making it impossible to land any body shots or head shots.

There is a big difference between being able to defend whilst punching and beating your opponent to only being able to defend when you're not doing anything else. Wright also has a much larger defensive arsenal than simply covering up his head. He uses that mainly and he uses it much more widely putting guys in bad position with it and leaving them wide open and off balance. Abraham does not get close to doing any of that.

Abraham doesn't use pillow gloves like Winky to go into a shield. Winky needs the bigger gloves so he can keep them open to protect his tiny head from average to big punchers. Abraham covers up with Ryes and doesn't even get touched. AA's got a bigger head too lol.
