Got all of mayweathers skills, is faster. One thing he doesent have as good as mayweather is defense which is prolly why he isn't boring like mayweather. I'd love for mayweather to match skills with this guy. Berto has put this division on high alert. This dude will be escalating in the lb for lb rankings when he gets there. How does Berto have all Mayweather's skills?
He doesnt have great defense, has unimpressive footwork and balance, doesnt have near the counterpunching ability Floyd has, he cannot stay in the pocket and not get hit like Floyd, Floyd throws crisper, more fluid punches...
I could go on and on.

Cotto's chin is nothing to write home about either..and he has ZERO defense for right hands...NONE.

DOn't put words in my mouth. I never saud Cotto was perfect and I def never said either fighters were Pernell Whitaker. How about you explain how Berto drops his hands and throws wild right hands when nothing is there. You think I'm delusional, but it's you who has your head in the stars. ARE YOU WATCHING THE FIGHTS. This guy has almost as many defensive holes as Miranda, he's just faster. Explain to me how he will overcome his defensive issues without resorting to the foolish, he has power don't worry he'll knock him FORREAL. Talk about technique. Talk about discpline. Talk about the basic bringing your hands back up after you punch. Talk about chin. Talk about anything except your love of powerfull punches and your case will be better, because power means **** without technique discplne and defense, and Berto has neither.

I have watched all of his fights. He is a fast learner and I think he can be a force if he keeps this kind of fighting up. He'll need to work on his defense of course, but its not as bad as some I've seen.
He has a belt now so he has no choice but to fight top guys. We'll see who will be running to take his belt from him and who won't. That should answer the question of whether he can ****.

Floyd is on another level against anyone. I think berto can compete with cotto right now. His style suits cotto and berto can wack. He has a guy his size, where is he may be a bad match up for margs or williams. Berto is a champ now, so i agree he has to be ready for the big boys. quintana isn't a big puncher, but he is a sharp puncher and would be a good test for berto. Berto would rather have a guy in his face rather than boxing him.

Good post. This is possible. Berto needs to show some championship pedigree. Cotto hasn't shown this yet either in a long drawn out fight, but he has shown he can get up from being down.
