    ..Wondering, Slickster or Brawler?...

This thread is spawned from a BIASED thread that took place yesterday. I was hoping to get a legitimate conversation going without the thread starter jumping in to tell you why you're entirely wrong or a coward an d how some kind of tornado was going to kill you.

So I ask the question, which do you prefer, slickster or a brawler?

This raises a lot of questions. For example, who do you think wins most of the time between the two? Who has the better/longer career? Whats the better overall gameplan?

You are born with power, and you can learn technique. But athleticism is a natural talent and with learning better technique, your power increases.

So, it's a tough one. What do you guys think?

Wish you could have included boxer/puncher. Box when you can, get bailed out by your power when you need it sometimes.
Brawlers can be boring when they can't get to a guy, and slicksters can when they don't engage or don't want to get it the guy.

Brawlers have the shorter careers but if a slickster has no pop he's going long rounds every time which diminishes his longevity.

To include boxer/puncher would take away from making an actual choice. It's always great to have a balance, but the point of this is to choose if you had to make the choice.

May I choose the grey area? You're too smart to make it black and white, now stop it.
        Ha ha ha.

I said nothing of the sort. But if you can choose between having your right hand be the fastest it can be and yout left being slow as hell or vice versa, of course you'd like to pick the option of.. a balance of speed with the two. That's too easy. I want to actually have people make a choice.

Furthermore, running has nothing to do with being slick. I assume you mean the Mayweather, type of running. Which is ironic, because he's quite stationary and tends to fight off the ropes more.

I think a slickster has more chance of beating a brawler than the other way round, a slickster should also have a longer career because he won't get caught with as many shots but I'm not sure if that translates to a better career.

As jreckoning said, a boxer-puncher is the best style a fighter can have but if I'd have to pick one, I'd be a slickster.
