Hopkins is way too high. You could also make a good argument that Packman should be number one.

Joe deserves his #1 ranking for the reasons given.

However, with a good performance (maybe a stunning KO win) against Diaz could put Pacquiao ahead.

If Diaz defeats Manny or if its a close fight, Joe should remain at #1, because of the reasons given by ESPN.

I've had Joe at number 1 based on being a 2 division champion at the same time. If that doesn't say pound for pound, I don't know what does.

Calzaghe clearly beat Hopkins. Hop won at the most five rounds if your completely biased. I scored 4 rounds (plus a point for the knockdown) for Hop and had JC winning 116-113.

If JC was landing only "slaps" then why was Hop looking to by time by faking to be hit in the balls? JC threw and landed twice as many punches as Hopkins and neither fighter was landing many "clean" shots since Hop was determined to make the fight ugly by holding and headbutting.

Misses: "When a guy this good fights all comers, entertains the crowd, shows humility and appreciation for his fans and the media and is respectful to his opponents, what is there to complain about? Boxing could use 1,000 Cottos"

If anyone thinks Hopkins should be lower or out of the list completely then you should also have a problem with Calzaghe being #1 considering he won a close SD over him.

Because Calzaghe is the P4P #1 fighter. Joe would be favored over any fighter from MW-LHW and most at CW. He's undefeated and been Champion for over a decade. Pac is the only other fighter that can make an argument to be #1, but he's lost a few fights.
