Khan isnt ready yet for the elite just like gamboa isnt ready yet for them also, But i cannot fault them for wanting to fight the best thats what we need more boxers wanting to fight the best, But he has a Team around him who would keep him in check. If it takes people like Joe calzaghe/Hatton late into their 20s and 40 odd fights to fight the elite then Khan still has 2 to 3 more years of schooling in the pro game.

Like you said he should wait afew years, but i dont have alot of respect for him or frank warren. They have been bigging him up since he came out of the olympics and making out that every bum he has fought is his " hardest opponent yet " and khan is so brainwashed by this that he thinks hes the best .. most the time its shot ex title holders. For this reason i would be happy to see him fight pacman or someone of that caliber to prove 2 things.

1.) frank warren is a match-maker not a boxing promoter

2.) Amir Khan is not as big as his own head

And yes, Marquez is the first fighter Paq faced that can hit accurately with two hands and counter. Marquez can be the older veteran he is and take Paq's sloppy ass style and just completely toy with it and use it against him. That was the exposure. Just one intelligent puncher and Paq's in trouble for 12 rounds. And to be honest, I don't believe he has a chin...lol I don't know, you can call that a hunch. And I think there was a reason why after the final Marquez fight, Paq avoided Guzman along with any other real two handed threat's. I think thats the same reason why Diaz was chosen as an opponent, and the same reason why Hatton was bein discussed as an opponent. Now even though I think Hatton is just way too big, lol You can blatantly see Paq's people tryin to put him against the weaker caliber of fighters. he has good skills. just need to fight a little bit better comp so he gets more seasoned.

he'll be fine as long as they keep developing him. i don't think he's ready for a title yet though. maybe in a few more years. he has all the physical tools but if you push him too quickly he might get "casamayored" against a seasoned vet like katsidis. the future at 135 is between kats and amir imo.
