British fighters are overhyped and overrated

Americans hype their fighters more than Brits do, there is absolutely no question about it. A couple of good wins on HBO and virtually any boxer is elevated to borderline HOF level.
Brits are far more realistic in their assessment, but as someone posted, Americans mistake supporting a fighter for hyping him.Comment

This is very true. Rare indeed is the Brit who has much good to say about Junior Witter.Witter was not hyped by the British, he was hyped by fatyanks looking for a stick tyo beat Hatton with.
Oh and Tunney doesn't like Haye because Haye is mixed race which is a nono to racists like him. Although he is actually heterosexual.
I don't get the beef with Haye. He's huge punching guy who is a bit chinny but he still goes all-out for the knockout. What's not to like?Comment

well these days where ****ed over all time in this country and ****ing mass immigration etc so we dont have much to celebrateI think there is a little bit of a difference though. I'm Australian and I will support all the Australian fighters but I don't necessarily think they are great fighters. There is a difference between support and how you rate a fighter. Not saying you do it, but from my experience British people overrate their sportsmen period. They are simply blinded by their alliegences. My entire extended family is British so I can identify with this train of thought. Not saying it is a bad thing either, it's just the way it is.Comment

How the **** is Ricky Hatton overrated? He's lost one fight in 45 and that was to the best pound for pound fighter on the planet so there aint any shame in that. He's still the man everybody wants to fight, he's still the man at 140 lb's and he is still the man who draws the biggest crowds in the sport of boxing so no ****ing way is this guy overrated.Comment
