Cotto is not as fast and as good a boxer as Clottey. Clottey is a bad ass. He is just the definition of high risk - low reward.

Are you going to the fight? You having some boxing IQ. Great post. I think Cotto will get to Margs early. Maybe even a flash knock down. But I think that late in the fight, Margs will be too heavy handed and will be behind on the score cards at the time of the stoppage in the favor of Margs. I say 10 or 11 for Margs.

I wish I was going to this fight. I was planning on it when it was first being mentioned for New York City, I was about to get my plane ticket and everything. Las Vegas, I don't know too many people out there.

Margarito will be dangerous with the overhand right all night, but he's going to have to use it as a counter to Cotto's jab. Cotto has a tendency to get caught over the top with right hands.

Where Margarito is most dangerous is when he walks in without a jab because Cotto is the wrong guy to do that with. Cotto has excellent counterpunching ability.

I have to go with Cotto by a decision because I like that he has a few things he can do if he needs to adjust. I appreciate both guys but I just think Cotto is the superior technician and I like when a guy has options.

You must be forgetting that marg is the king of squaring up. Marg being taller he will have even more body to land on. It doesnt matter if he gives cotto 2 or 3 shots to land one cause obviously we know who will be the smarter fighter. IMO i think this fight will go to the cards if it does it will be cotto ud.

I think Cotto will whoop Margarito's ass but Clottey is a defensively better fighter so the comparison is different, had he not hurt his hand he would have had a win over Margarito too, he won the first 4 rounds easy. I dont get why Margarito fans hype him up so much, hes just an average boxer IMO with toughness.

I never noticed this but in the close up replay of that punch, Paulie's wrist hit Cotto more on the neck it looked like. It probably knocked him off balance more than anything else. That being said, Cotto doesn't have a chin made of concrete. Margarito still has that punchers chance, but we all know skills usually prevail in boxing.
