You can't really compare boxing to golf though. There is no such thing as "playing for second" in boxing. Moreover, boxing is too unpredictable and physical to have such a strong "leading man".

Tiger loses sometimes but for the most part you're playing for second. Has boxing ever had a phenom like this? Robinson is the closest I can think of because at his time no one really could touch him. Ali to me was never clearly the best at the time, he was better than Frazier but not by much.
