Feather fisted bum Lou Del Valle went 12 rounds and knocked down a PRIME Roy Jones in 1998, he's always had a glass chin. This talk about him KOing Calzaghe is nonsense, in late 90's it would be a close 12 round fight. Today Calzaghe would win far easier against Jones than he did against Hopkins, cause unlike Hopkins Jones is shot.
So Jones looked ordinary because he beat a 28yr old Bernard Hopkins eight rounds to four. Are you sure you're in the right forum?

And now Lou Del Valle is featherfisted. Would this be the same Del Valle who had dropped Virgil Hill in his previous fight? The one who weighed in at 192 against Jones? Did you even watch the fight? Are you sure that was a "knockdown" that proves your point? Don't embarrass yourself.

Have you seen him lately? He is not on the level Pavlik is right now. He still has a little bit of slicks, but not enough to carry him.

I'm well aware that Gatti has never been on the level of Jones, but I'll use him as an example. In his last fight against Gomez, do you think there is any way Gomez would have beat him in 2000?

Jones has dropped about that much. 10 years ago or less Hanshaw would have been embarassed in the ring with jones and it would have been a boxing lesson. Instead it was a fairly close fight and Jones never looked impressive the whole fight. Same for Trinidad. If jones had much of anything left the Trinidad fight would have been over in 6 rounds. Trinidad was good in his prime times, but he was two weight classes above where he belonged, and old himself. His last fight before Jones was 3 years ago and he got completely shut out by Wright at middle weight. So after that fight and 3 years how did he somehow become a credible opponent for RJJ? The fight was even at super middle weight so you would think his chances of winning were even less than against Wright.

BOXREC shows that Lou De Valle last almost every round against Jones, and that De Valle has a 64% KO record. He also had a very tough fight against Virgil Hill, whom Jones KO'd in the 4th.

Boxrec? Do yourself a favor and start watching fights. Because if you did, you'd know that the famous knockdown against Del Valle was as much a knockdown as Marvin Hagler's sole knockdown. And that Del Valle was a cruiser that night. And also that he eventually moved up to cruiser - didn't catch that while getting your knowledge from Boxrec, did ya?

Yeah, Jones KO'ed Hill in four...in case you're wondering no one has EVER been able to do something like that to Hill, expect Mormeck who did it only a couple years ago I believe. Del Valle lost a close decision to Hill in Hill's hometown - in a fight where he dropped Hill. Do your homework.

So if you wanna learn about boxing, WATCH IT.

RJJ's still got something left in the tank. I'm looking forward to this fight.
