I'd much rather prefer him to fight Pavlik, but the Jones fight is alright. I hope Jones can pull off the upset.

Roy Jones Jr Has Never Been Outboxed In His Life

Joe only called out Pavlik to for publicity sake so he can retire and say "I seriously considering fighting Pavlik but I didnt because...." but truth be told he wants no part of Kelly.. nobody does. No shame in that Kelly is nothing to play with. What Calzaghe is going to learn though is that RJ is a much mored dangerous opponent than the the old man he struggled against a few months ago. RJ will be faster, stronger and more skilled.. ummm.. hows Joe gonna beat RJ? Calzaghe outbox RJ? ROY JONES JR HAS NEVER BEEN OUTBOXED IN HIS LIFE. Even when he was knocked out he still outboxed them. If Calzaghe doesnt KO Jones its not gonna happen.

but calzaghe its a smart guy, i think he took the right decision for him, but still it sucks for the fans and for boxing.

Still i will sure as hell watch this fight and think it can be anoyones fight, of course the odds are on joe side, but it wont be an easy fight for anyone.

I don't know. Calzaghe might as well make his last payday his best one.
He has that chance fighting RJJ. He wouldn't with Pavlik.

Thats total bullcrap, why would he get paid more to fight a shot fighter like roy then he would against a prime fighter like Pavlik? It's lies, roys not a name anymore he isn't worth a penny. Roy ain't worth **** because he is shot to pieces

Ya'll must have forgot: Roy Jones Jr. is the greatest boxer of our era.

Everyone in boxing marveled at the gifts of Roy Jones Jr. for 10years as he completely destroyed everyone in the ring with ease moved up to Heavyweight to win that title too. Then after 2 knockouts everyone wrote him off. Now he has an opportunity to face the man whom many have "given" the title of greatest fighter of our age. JOE CALZAGHE IS NO ROY JONES JR. YA'LL MUST HAVE FORGOT. Redemption is not without a sense of irony.

I really dislike this guy! It appears 2 me his career was carefully orchestrated and now the fights he should have took in the past he is now taking due to decreased risk. I'm buying the fight due the name on the other end! I still marvel at the things the old legend can do! as far as Fazaghe, w or l he will be 4gotten shortly after retiement so i cant blame him for milking his overhyped career til the end. RJJ by 9th rd TKO without the turnbuckle. I got a 1K for any takers. PM me for wagers suckers!

Hmm. The thing about Pavlik is that you are all taking it as read that he is this incredible opponent to whom no other can compare, when in reality he has just become champion a division lower than Joe and his best wins are against questionable opposition. Calzaghe wouldn't prove a thing by fighting and beating Pavlik, he already took ou the last guy who was in Kelly's situation, Jeff Lacy, and then Mikkel Kessler too. The reality is that Pavlik is on paper no better than either of those.

Don't get me wrong, I would prefer to see Joe fight Kelly than RJJ, but this notion that Joe is ducking Pavlik is ludicrous, he is the two weight titleholder, he is the one undefeated for ten years, and you guys act as though Kelly is clearly the superior fighter.

As for RJJ, you say he's never been outboxed? How about the 1st and 3rd Tarver fights? Roy is too old now and I don't agree that he will be a tough opponent for Joe, but since it will be the biggest payday in Joe's career, against a fighter who is a true legend, I can't begrudge Joe wanting to fight him.

I think he will face Pavlik down the line too. Unless Kelly gets beat in the mean time that is.
