/Margarito or just bigger guys plain & simple? Its my #1 argument all the time and I cant believe how the fans & media just gloss over this like it doesnt matter. There is no fighter out there right now who is fighting a Cotto/Margarito in terms of there natural and immediate size advantage over Floyd.
I just dont understand why people think guys are so tough or so great when there fighting guys who are always smaller then them or equal size. Its like people think Cotto & Margarito are so brave for challenging eachother and other guys in the division. Why wouldnt they? Who should Cotto fear when he's the biggest strongest guy in the division? Who should Margarito fear when he's the other biggest strongest guy in the division and he's been there longer then anyone. Who would either of them have to fear? Why would they fear Floyd when they just look at him like a little guy who doesnt even belong at WW and he cant hurt them. Ofcourse there rushing to fight him when you think of that and the fact that it will be by far there biggest pay day while you can knock off the #1 guy in boxing but its not like Floyd is a natural 154 pounder that they have to fight. If that was the case then they definatly wouldnt be dying to fight him right now.
People sweat Oscar over his resume but again, who did he have to fear in terms of knowing that he was at a distinct advantage? The only guy was Hopkins and its no coincedence that he got KO for the 1st time in his career and some including me think that it may have been a setup fight anyway. Seriously though Sweet Pea, Shane, Tito, Vargas, and so on are all good guys but they were either naturally smaller, the same size, or shot fighters when he got them. Why would anyone fear guys there own size or smaller? Didnt Floyd fight a killer in Chico, a huge guy in Castillo who was clearly way bigger & stronger, N'Dou, Baldy, Oscar, and Hatton? Ive always said that if they were huge 140 pounders then it would be different. They would still be clearly bigger & stronger then Floyd but he would easily fight them because he can handle himself better at that weight. Now your a class up while not gaining a pound on fightnight and Cotto is even bigger now and at his natural weight.
Calzaghe? Hopkins? Vasquez? Marquez? Name 1 guy any of them fought that you thought they might lose because they were just too small for them? The only fight was Raffy vs Izzy but that was just one class up for Raffy and Floyd is in his 4th. Pac, JMM, MAB, and EM? All those guys moved up but they fight eachother which neaturlizes the weight disadvantage. Who did they have to fear in terms of weight? Even Pac now. He's moving up again but I bet he outweighs Diaz. ****, I bet he will even weigh more then Floyd weighs at 154. No one is at 154 right now but what if that divison was deep like in the past? Do you think Cotto would be jumping to go to 154 to fight Winky? I was watching a prime Winky fight yesterday. He would **** Cotto at 154 in his prime. A prime Oscar, Vargas, and so on? No way Cotto or Margarito runs to that weight. Margarito did once and lost to Santos. Stop overlooking this stuff. Donair was clearly a bigger & more skilled guy then Vic and look what happened.
None of these guys are doing what Floyd has to do. None of them fight bigger stronger guys like Floyd but yet everyone swears there tough, warriors, or special? Do you seriously believe that Floyd would worry one bit about Margarito/Cotto if he was a natural WW in his 1st division? If you believe that then your a clown and a fool. Why should any of these guys worry about the other when there all equal or usually fighting smaller guys? Its nothing but when you have to move up and fight huge guys when your not gaining much weight and there monsters then its different. Lets see Margarito/Cotto go meet Pavlik at MW. It would only be there 3rd division. Lets see what happeneds.
