it's business to them, to us it's entertainment, but really they are the same thing
Trust, I get that, but if there are no fans, there is no money. Athletes don't give a **** about us as fans in the realm of who we are as individuals with families that love us, but they do care when it comes time for us to pay for an event.

#1 reason why = the media
Sports were a big thing probably up till the late 80's I think. There was still a sense of innocence to it. People felt a real connection to their teams, and guys weren't jumping ship every other season. There was no spygate, crooked refs, rediculous steroid use or leagues that allow ludacris trades to go through. I'm not saying that didn't exist back in the day but certainly not like it goes on today...

        Now it's a different story...

You have jackass's like LeBron James (from my hometown) saying he intends to be the first Billionaire basketball player. He even drives around here with a license plate that says "KING OF AK" (My city being Akron, OH).

I would say an ignorant young man.

You would think people would be greatful for their success and not rub everyone's nose in it. I know people who went to his highschool, believe me, he is dumb as rock.
he should be thankful he has enough gold diggers around him to market & use his name so he can get more money

yes, of course i've put it out there sarcastically, but it is what it is. nobody should take anything for granted. especially if you claim something to be yours than you have to really show it. i dont know him as a person, but i wouldnt think that's he's the type of guy who would wait around on a cold thanksgiving morning giving out turkeys to the less fortunate
