Protecting the "0" maybe? You know, Pavlik's no bum. Joe wouldn't walk through him like he's Peter Manfredo Jr.

I still think it'd be a comfortable win for Joe.

And you could be right. I respectfully disagree.

No, but i see it as a similar, possibly slightly easier fight than Kessler, and certainly an easier fight than Hopkins. Why fight Kessler and Hopkins, and not fight Pavlik? Why is Calzaghe getting all this stick when we all know that Pavlik's people want a fight with Rubio?

I can't really see what he has over Kessler, hopkins, or even Lacy.

I don't see what makes Kessler so much better than Pavlik. Pavlik has the work rate, stamina, and power to keep a fight with JoeCal real, real interesting, imo.

Hell, if Hopkins had thrown more than 6 punches per round, we might not even be talking about a possible Calzaghe/Pavlik fight right now.

And I think it's pretty clear that Rubio gets moved to the back burner, if Calzaghe doesn't back out of a fight with Pavlik.

I think Kessler is faster than Pavlik, and is a more technical and disciplined fighter. Pavlik's style plays too much into Calzaghes hands.

What is the problem with JC fighting both Jones and Pavlik?

Joe has already taken care of two undefeated young Champions (Lacy, Kessler) and is now fighting his contemporaries that refused to fight him until now. If Joe fights Jones there's no reason he cant still fight Pavlik, and has said that's what he wants to do.

I hope you're right. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Exactly. For all we know Calzaghe is just letting Pavlik wait, knowing there is no one for him to lose to at MW, and getting Roy while he's still around. Yet people on here are jumping around calling him a coward. Hopefully that is it because i really want to see him fight Pavlik.
