I don't know if Arum would be willing to take the risk, considering that Pacquiao has plans to move up to 140 to fight Hatton in a big, big money fight.

i'm surprised about the casa votes.

casa is no longer fighting for the titles. casa just wants money before he retires. only way casa unifies imo is if he beats someone that already has the remaining titles.

            I'm shocked too.

I mean Casa is sweet and all..........but people were getting a bit butt crazy over his win over Katsidis. He's past it........so is Campbell.

            Oldies.

              Maybe

but its either he executes and fulfill your prophecy OR he gets beaten and confirms that he's an ultimate hype job.

it was a great win but casa showed his age the past few fights. he got lucky with katsidis and got a gift from the judges in the santa cruz fight.

i give nate a better chance of unifying than joel though......

joel has made it clear he doesn't care about keeping titles or unifying. he just wants the big money fight before he retires.

outside of juan diaz and manny , the only other lightweight i see being able to unify is joan guzman.

i don't think marquez will be able to hang at 135 , valero won't be koing everyone like he does at 130 , joel is too old , same for campbell , david and julio diaz is a longshot to unify , and i don't know how santa cruz is gonna get fights.
You forgot Katsidis! He's better than half the guys on that list. Anyway, Guzman has a great chin. Earlier in his career when he would stand and trade he was cracked hard a few times and didn't even flinch. The other asset he has is that it's combined with brilliant defense. The only problem with Guzman is he's actually getting pretty old now. If he had been given the shots at the big guys that he has deserved for so long now earlier he would already be ruling that division.

As it stands I think he would still beat anyone in the division, it's just that he is starting to slow down and fight less and pot shot more. His offensive arsenal has dropped off considerably. He, or his management, really need to try and get the big fights and get them now otherwise his chance will pass him by. I think he's one of the most underrated fighters by far today.

The lightweight division, as it has been all the time throughout history, is the most talent packed division today and it's my opinion that it easily surpasses the WW division as the best in the sport today. Unlike the WW division it has a vast, varied and highly talented mix of fighters ranging from great boxers to great power punchers. By far, the most exciting division in boxing today. Actually, I can't remember a time when the lightweight division wasn't crammed full of brilliant talent and consistently producing the best fights. It always has been and always will be the best division in boxing.

manny might not be a technical boxer but he's a hell of a fighter.

besides...... money talks and every beltholder wants a fight with him because of the money involved.

......and most of the belts are held by older , past prime guys...... we all know how manny does against those guys. ha ha ha
