You would probably say "look at all them Jamaicans playing basketball." They are Jamaican-Americans. We are all Americans but different kinds. Latinos, whites, blacks, asian, whatever. We are still different dont even try acting like we are the same. Different looks, cultures, etc.

Ortiz is MEXICAN-AMERICAN. His name is latino, he looks latino, he reps his latino culture, and hes from America which he represent too. Hes a Mexican-American. In america we usually dont add the American part. So saying he is Mexican here is perfectly logical to me.
