If Williams had beaten Quintana the first time, it probably would have just been a win over an okay dude, who beat an overrated prospect in Joel Julio.

But, he lost the first fight in a fairly close decision, which he looked bad in, but he did have moments of competitiveness and won more than a few rounds.

Then he comes out and blows Quintana out.

Even though he got a loss, do you think Williams's stock is higher now that people put so much worth in Quintana after Williams beat him, and then Williams came out and destroyed Quintana?

    An interesting discussion for sure.
I believe ihe does because fans doubted his top 10 staying power after his first loss. To come out and blow a guy out in half a round imo has done wonders for him with the public, but not his pockets. His net worth rose a bit. You go from beating margs to losing, and then winning a rematch against a man who beat you. I don't think he will have a chance to show his true net worth unless cotto can beat margs, and he beats cotto.

I wasn't serious either with my remark.

Now if I won that kind of money on Mora winning I'd be an extremely dissful camper but Williams was the favourite. He did knock him out but he was a solid favourite to win. Why do you think I only bet like 5k on El Indio.

Yeah... no one was knocking Castillo out at 135, except for the extremely heavy handed Corrales... and he was STILL on his feet. If he had done that... WOW.

Thanks for the responses guys! I guess I'm not alone in thinking that the loss helped him, even on the resume.
