Fighting the winner of the monster July showdown between Miguel Cotto and Tony Margarito would be a heck of a way to cap off an extraordinary career. Oscar has fought them all. He fought Tito when he was a wrecking ball unbeaten welterweight in a huge showdown, a Bernard Hopkins who had looked virtually infallible for around a decade, pound-for-pounders like Pernell and Floyd Mayweather, titans like Ike Quartey and Fernando Vargas. If he were to dethrone Cotto, who I favour over Margarito, it would be the perfect ending (I guess beating Floyd would be greater, but this will suffice!)
De La Hoya: "Floyd Lost His Shot, Maybe Cotto/Pacquiao"

Great to see that DLH is pissed off. I mean he played his games all along, so it's nice to see that the fight he wanted doesn't happen this time around. Must be the first time for him. Floyd would have beaten him on points but now he has to face Cotto. Cotto can hurt him... I hope DLH don't get lucky and lands one fine left hook... it would be brutal... he finally get's that ass whoopin' he deserves. Don't ask me why... I could never stand DLH... I don't know why...Comment

From Floyd down to Hatton...down to Manny Pac...hey, Oscar, why not call out Ivan Calderon while you're at it?
Damn, I know you're desperate to go out on a win, but you're getting ***** ridiculous!
By the way, Floyd blew HIS chance?
Last time I checked he had a big 'W' over you.Comment

I can't believe some of the comments about Oscar by the way. Oscar is a very entertaining and talented fighter. He has excellent skills and is one of the best boxers of our generation. His achievements speak for themselves.Comment

it Was Reported Yesterday By Maxboxing/boxingscene.com's Rick Reeno, That Oscar De La Hoya Would Likely Scrap A Potential Fight Plan For September Due To The Unforeseen Retirement Of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Prior To Mayweather's Announcement, The Plans Was For De La Hoya To Fight Three Times And Then Retire Before The Start Of 2009. He Planned To Fight Mayweather In September And Then A Career-ending Bout In December. Reeno Was Advised That De La Hoya Would Instead Push His Fight Back, Maybe Until November And Only Fight One More Time Before Retirement. [details]Comment

You heard what he said "he can jump 2 or 3 weight classes to face me" Has there ever been a fight that was more full of ****?Comment

What's this obsession with fighting PAC? I mean seriously it's worse than his idea of fighting Hatton. DeLaHoya needs to fight the winner of Cotto-Margarito, that should seal his legacy and end his career in a positive note. I would love to see Margarito-DeLaHoya, two Mexican warriors going toe-to-toe, one a pocho and the other a real Mexican bad ass giving all the fans an excellent fight.Comment

"Floyd lost his shot." Oscar is the true clown of the sport! Pacquiao? Looks like he was playing hardball in negotiations with Floyd and missed out on his payday aswell! Probably didn't want 2 drop 2 147, wanted Floyd 2 wear bigger gloves again, smaller ring, & anything else CHAMPIONS are supposed 2 demand! I hope Floyd steps on his neck by cutting in line for the Cotto/Margie winner since that is his TRUE class! The least Oscar could do is fight some one his own size! Overrated/Overhyped Buttboy! GO AWAY!Comment
