Wins and losses don't necessarily matter. The all-time greats (short of Marciano) all have losses on their records. Undefeated happens so rarely, and yet it's now expected to be considered the top. If Cotto or Pavlik ever lose, for example, people will automatically stop including them in GOAT talks. The fact that Pacquaio has a winning record against the best around, means he deserves to be one of the best in pound-for-pound rankings.

Floyd should never have been #1, because he refused to fight the best at his own level. Money does not equal greatness in a world of entertainment.
Wins and losses don't matter, but they have to be taken into discussion. Cal has not fought inferior comp. Even byron mitchell was good. People don't remember fights like that. Ring mag puts who they want at the top anyway. Ring elevated dlh to pfp best when roy hadn't lost because they thought that jones wasn't fighting good fighters. They thought. They did the same to sweetpea when everyone started liking james toney's brutality. Go figure

Wins and losses both matter when you are at your prime. Also when there are other fighters with no losses. Look at how manny has won againts top fighters and how joe n cotto have. If p4p was based on boxing skill, on the sweet science pac wouldnt be in the top 10. Now he is very good and im a big fan but hes not p4p in the sport. exciting yes, popular yes, great boxer no. He is the julius jackson of this era.

Yeah that threw me off. I thought Winky was going to be put back in the 10th place. I also love how Mijares has moved up 3 places in 4 weeks. He started out at 10, and is now at 8.

yeah but, the ring mag is now owned by d.l.h and hes clever make no mistake, it calls for fighters and their promoters to come calling to prove otherwise.
i do agree that hopkins is a ***** losing the last 3/4 but like gaywweather he doesnt fight.
retire bernard or is it bone yard hopkins?
but still, the ring mag is by and large THE bible of boxing.

The old man climbed 2 weightclasses to beat antonio tarver who beat roy jones twice and still has lightheavyweight hardware to this day. Both Tarver and Dawson would **** Calzaghe today let alone if he tried to face them at 41 yrs old

it is a great day in boxing when we have a true warrior on top of the p4p list like manny paciquio. i was tired of seeing a coward on the top of there list for so long.

And even more worse when there are idiot fans like you who fall for that kind of ****.
this is just plain and basic common sense. how can he say boxing is in a bad state when the best are fighting the best?? and you think pac is limited?? well he beat a more skilled fighter like jmm with just his speed and his power. so if he is one dimensional that one dimension is to good to be beat!! i would take a man with just speed and power over a coward who runs.
