I mean he only use to fight like once a year. But that day was the best day for me as a boxing fan. Watching the most complete boxer on this earth, in the ring. For however long it was.

The day when he fought Hatton sticks with me in my head. The "lead" rights he was throwing. All day. And then that "check" left hook. Which was technically the best punch i have seen a professional throw and land.

    RIP Floyd.

Yes. He is the best boxer on earth so I will be sad if I never see him fight again. Boxers like him don't come around every day.

I think he'll be back though.

Mayweather was beautiful to watch in the ring, possessing a truly unique style. He showed the full potential of the Philly Shell guard in the hands of a gifted athlete by mastering it as no one had done before; we may never see anyone again with his unique mixture of technique on offense and defense coupled with a strange unorthodoxy that made him unpredictable. His leaving without a final fight leaves a bitter taste in the collective mouths of everyone.

I'm sad because I know what he could have done. If I was managing Mayweather, I would tell him three fights and we'll leave it all behind.

          1) Cotto to silence his critics and rule welterweight
          2) the best available 154lb champion (no money in it, but historically important - beat Spinks or whatever if he regains his belt)
          3) the middleweight champion - I would not be at all surprised to see Floyd outbox Kelly Pavlik or Arthur Abraham or Felix Sturm - whoever is the legit champ by the time Mayweather would fight them

if he did that and retired undefeated, he would be top 3 all time no doubt

Mayweather provided me with two out of four of the happiest nights of my boxing life.

Mayweather exposing Hatton. Dominating him, then making him quit.

            Mayweather thoroughly demolishing Gatti.

            Jones uppercutting Pazienza into submission.

            Casamayor demolishing Katsidis.

Don't worry man. Once he is out of the spotlight and realizes that he is not the "entertainer" he thought he was, he will miss being the center of attention and will be back.

He's going to come back for the wrong reasons and get sent back to the retirement home.

I would gladly take the Hatton one, Just seen him destroying Hatton just gives me satisfaction...not because of hatton but for his rose-tinted glasses biased classless fans who are just the worst fans any boxer could have as fans leading up to a big fight.
