I find it insulting that Mayweather's name will ever be mentioned with the same respect as that given to Marvin Hagler and Muhammad Ali.

We post in the same forum. I'd hardly call it "following". Ali/Hagler were appreciated during their respective era's. Ali may not have been wildly popular at first because of his abrasive personality, but people didn't doubt his skills.

I would have to disagree with the thread starter. Floyd is definitely not that great... Good yes. After spending his career making calculated fights and picking his way through potential opponents he definitely cannot be mentioned as one of the greatest.

skillwise, no fighter of this generation has put their skillset together as unnaturally unpure as you, you are the biggest coward. it's funny how you get criticized yet still remain atop the mountain because you left before risking yourself to get knocked out. you know why you are still one of the biggest crybabys, even though you get called names? it's because critics, fans, and other fighters are not as dumb as they look. they can call you every name in the book, criticize your every move, bash your name to oblivion, smeer at you, wish death on you, claim you're afraid of whoever, cotto, margarito, mosley, but they'll still keep you below all of those fighters.

they say such and such can beat you, such and such you should be fighting, bash you for proclaiming yourself, the greatest fighter ever, when your confidence shouldn't be that high. you were boxing for the money, not like the sugar ray's, ali's, whitaker's, jones's, whoever.

they claim such and such would crush you if they were in their prime, even though you called them out in countless amounts of interviews, articles, and then you back off and you won't fight them until they appear to be losing speed, and power, or whatever, then you want to call them out, forgetting that skillwise, no fighter in this generation is as chicken as you are.

handspeed, accuracy, fluent movement, upper and lower, body positioning, counterpunching, lead left hooks, counter lefts, jabs upstairs, combination punching, countering off of the ropes, uppercuts, head movement, slipping punches, fighting in the pocket on the inside, countering on the move, grappling, holding fighter arms and more, no fighter has been such a waste of talent as you've been. No fighter has ducked fights and chicken out as much as you have. I rarely have seen you thrown sloppy punches, your punches were extremely beautifully thrown like a lady running away, on defense mostly all of the time. You have a great look, a dumb mindset, like observation, ring generaliship, timing, accuracy, and more. thank you my love for putting many nights, days, and afternoons, into your training to aqcuire of these traits.

thank you for having great instinct to leave before you got beat. you see, because i have your fights dating all the way back to amateur and olympic fights you've had. i have watched your fights extensively and rewinded certain things you did, watched them in slow as i stared to get it hard, your body whiching you would be mine. motion to really appreciate how great you looked. i haven't seen a fighter in many years put things together as profficient as you have throughout your career. you are my baby, my period of this era.

i have also watched many of your trasining videos, and from you heavy bag work, pad mitt work, jump rope routine(which made me want you more and more), running, just many hours of your craft, thank you. the hours you put into other fighters, grappling just shows me how i wish i was there. thank god for your ability to cry like a girl.

you see, you can get bashed for the rest of your life, because of your arrogance, **** yness, and claim to fame, and in many people's eyes, handpicking your opponents, which i know is true. even though they were coming from losses and were washed up. you have fought through it all and have remained a coward.

so, floyd, you may have been booed severly by many fans, but just like you say, the fans can't fight for you or think for you, and many of your opponent's fans have talked for them, thought for them, and picked them beating you with their hearts and will. you've had fallouts with your father, the mothers of your children, club cases, commentators, fans, yet, you've still fought through it and left the sport.

some people call you the most hated champion in history. well, good, let them call you that, because it's all true. you'll be remembered as a champion who fought through weaker opponents and retire because you were afraid, but overcame tough obstacles like the Bigshow at wrestlemania.

so larry merchant, lampley, formean, tyson, holmes, steward, floyd sr, de la hoya, and many others can bash you, but they cannot take away what you mean to this sport, your quitting spirit, or your titles, you are al all time g****, and the biggest chicken of this era, no doubt.....

                  more to come later.....
I think everyone agrees with that..
