Bottom line is, if Mayweather doesn't fight the best of this era, then he will not go down as an all time great.
I respect Mayweather because his skill is above and beyond what I have seen in any fighter today but it won't mean a thing unless he comes out and fights the top fighters.

i think floyd left a lot of question marks but there's no doubt that he would easily beat today's champions. light welter and down

              like who?
cotto? floyd would beat the living hell out of cotto, cotto is too slow...
williams? if quintana outboxed williams, floyd can probably TKO him (think of the amount of punishment williams would take)
              mosley - too old...
pac - that's an interesting fight and that's why i say floyd left a few question marks..

other than a big money fight with pac, i don't see a reason for floyd coming out of retirement...

some people call you the most hated champion in history. well, good, let them call you that, because you'll be remembered as a champion who fought thrugh adversity and overcame tough obstacles and a true champion.

                    more to come later.....
we all remember floyd as the champion that handpicked his opponnents, that fought B and C class fighters, that avoided all the top champions, that always had an excuse to avoid real challenges, that retired when it was the time to prove himself and to the world that he was a great champion. that fought gatti, bruseles, baldomir and fatton instead of fighting mosley, margacheato, cotto, williams. his lasts real challenges were against castillo and corrales and some fans agreed that he lost one of them.

that's the REAL true and the legacy that he will have. a good champion that avoided and step away from the challenges.

he was a good athlete with tons of skills but lack of heart or confidence and that he only legacy that he will have is 0 with an *
