Humberto Soto. Also beat Jorge Barrios. Two good names as they were top contenders at 130.if the plan pushes through, guzman would be fighting the first legitimate fighter in his boxing career. guzman has been perceived by many as great in 130 lbs, but look who he has fought... abosolutely nobody.
if he win against campbell convincingly, he may have the chance to earn a shot with pacman. but campbell is a hard nut to crack, juan diaz can attest to that.
marquez would have an easy fight with the old casamayor.Comment

I had the fight pretty even going into the 10th. Casamayor came back hard in rounds eight and nine. It was a great fight on a good card and both guys brought their game. It'd be great to see these LW guys do a round-robin series with all the fights on the SAME CARD!Comment

I meant on the judges' cards. Two of the three had Katsidis ahead at the time of the stoppage. FWIW, I had it scored 85-82 for Kat going into the tenth, but there were at least one or two rounds that could have gone either way.
And yes, I agree with you about the round-robin; I think every fight fan is looking forward to something like that.Comment

Well that and Casamayor is like 36. He (casamayor) looked great, but he was still slowed down a bit. He got knocked down twice and I don't feel he was ahead and he was losing the fight. He did a good job of turning it around, but I don't see him much different from Gatti. Gatti might even be better.Comment

I can't say that I'm certain he was ahead because I watched the fight the next day and didn't score it, but my general feeling was that if Katsidis has been a bit smarter towards the end he would've taken it on points. Obviously he only has one style and it does mean that he takes a lot of punches, but if he would've been a bit less kamikaze he would've lasted the distance, win or lose.Well that and Casamayor is like 36. As for the Gatti comparison, you may be correct, but Gatti had a decent career. He's not a p4p ATG or anything like that, but he had some good wins and held a few belts over the years. Most Katsidis fans would settle for him doing the same.Comment
