You mean like back 30 years ago when Leon Spinks got a shot at Ali's title after 7 fights?

                Like Pete Rademacher?

Seriously though, what would be the point in making a guy who is good enough now have extra fights and wait longer for his shot at the title?

Chavez Jr might be 40-0 at the time he challenges for a world title, and people aren't happy about his career progress so far.

Todays undefeated fighters, for the most part, have built their way up through very good competition. Exclude Joe Calzaghe from that list obviously, and the other ones that arent "proven" are still very young
On the contrary man, specially if you look into Europe. And it's gonna get worse, not just in Europe but everywhere. Promoters have realized they make allot more money if they match 2 undefeated fighters or a champion vs an undefeated fighter than any other combinations. SO that's what the future looks like.

Look to see "farms" of undefeated fighters coming out by the dozens with records paved with aging names and cans. Expect to see fighters like Lockett by the dozens. There are only a few legit undefeated champions i give credit too.

In the long term this will degrade boxing to a level we haven't seen before. Expect to see good boxers move out to mma in the future too.
