He would beat Cotto up in that ring. You know it.

His decision had nothing to do with Cotto. He could've cruised by De La Hoya again for the money, and he didn't. That proves his decision to retire was entirely personal. Most likely to see how he feels away from the sport...to see if he still needs it.
he could have.. I should have.. you know what that means? nothing!
    absolutely nothing..
The fact is he DIDN'T and ran...

The coulda / woulda / shoulda is all on your side.

"Cotto coulda / shoulda / woulda beaten Mayweather...if only that chicken didn't run! Boo hoo! Waaaaaaaaaaaah!"

      BULL****.

It's fantasy. In truth, you're only too happy to see Mayweather retire. Because you can now play out your little fantasy scenario where he is scared of your idol.

      Pathetic.

If your question is coulda / woulda / shoulda my boy have got beaten up by Mayweather?

      The answer is:
He still may. You never know what the future may hold.

Better just pray that Cotto don't get beaten up badly by Marg, huh?

To be honest I don't see Floyd "beating Cotto up" in that ring. I can see him getting a decision victory. It's true Cotto will not reach Mayweather popularity & he never will, because his lack of star interaction outside the ring. But as far as being the best in the sport, that status is up for grabs & he is getting closer to it.

I'm not saying for sure he would knock Cotto out. But he would punish him.

Floyd's current status wasn't achieved through "popularity". It was achieved through skill and anti-popularity combined.

Its a tough question because its two different kinds of bravery.

floyd was brave to move up into so many weight classes but cotto has been brave because he's never been afraid to fight ANYONE nor has he fought 12 rounds on his bike in ANY fight.

He will get in there and **** with you no matter what reputation you have whether it be judah, quintana, torres, malignaggi, mosley, etc.

I think floyd has been smarter about it though...it seems as if he fights the big names but does it in a way that doesnt seem to take much risk...

cotto avoids no one and gets in there and ****s away without fear. floyd tends to hang in the pocket and counter.

It comes down to two different types of brave but if i was forced to choose i'd say cotto easily...

he tends to overlook the money and just wants to fight the best and he does it in a way that makes you respect him, by going toe to toe.

Your story would be more convincing if Floyd had retired after seeing Cotto destroy Margarito in July.

You'd still be wrong, but you would have a more compelling set of circumstantial evidence.

In reality, when Floyd retires as Cotto is preparing for a scheduled fight that he has a good chance of losing, your claim holds not even a drop of water.

You're making the grand assumption that Cotto even gets past Marg.

Floyd could give two ****s about Cotto right now. Not even on his radar.

                  Scared?

                  Running?

                  "*****"?

                  You wish.

                    It is though.

You're asking to measure a fighter's bravery... that doesn't mean willingness to engage or sit down on punches or even brawl... Bravery in the boxing ring means 1 thing: stepping in it and trying to win.

The proper answer to this poll is what I and several others have stated: equal... the fact that so many pick Cotto shows either a lack of understanding of the question or a hatred of Floyd. Pick your poison I suppose.

Again, I doubt it.. But you can stick to you assumption, I will stick to mine..

I'm not talking about Floyd's P4P status, I never said that, I'm talking about his popularity outside the ring. Really he doesn't deserve P4P status even when he was last active. His last two fights were not even a true challenge for him.
