Quintana deserves a rematch just as much as Williams

Great post, Quintana does deserve a rematch, like Quintana said in the first fight, Williams should not overlook him. Just a quick acclaration, a KO isn't more telling of a boxers skills it's more telling of a boxer's power and ability to punch.

Williams destroyed Quintana in a single round..

He showed amazing improvement and power.

They are too many better fights to be made than with somebody that was almost killed in round one.

I'm rarley impressed by 1st round knockouts anyways....maybe when you consistantly destruct your opponent within the three mins. and just take his will. but when your are getting hit flush and just happen to catch your opponent with a good "one" shot that he never recovers from....that doesn't move me much. I want a number #3!

I will say that Quintana landed two of those overhands that were hitting Williams clean all night in the first one. Clearly Paul showed improvement in his power, but... he didn't show improvement on his defense (and that includes timing on defense too), which is where he needed the most improvement against a slickster counterpuncher like Carlos Quintana.

So if Williams KO's Quintana two more times in the first round, Quintana would still have the edge 8-7 in the series?

I agree that Quintana probably deserves a rematch, but getting destroyed in one round destroys marketability. Boxing is a business, so I can see why Williams would want to move on.
