Whats the beef between US and British fight fans????

There always seems to be some kinda beef, banter, straight up hatred and my honest opinion it seems like a lot of envy from Brits,, typically. Usually there seems to be some innuendo about Americans thinking American fighters are automatically superior to europeans.

Let me give you my "American" opinion: Historically and in modern times American fighters have been superior to British fighters, pretty much a fact but that doesnt come with disrepect to those British fighters, that doesnt mean there werent periods in history that British fighters didnt dominate weight classes. Im sure I'll catch some red for this but thats OK I just wanna get it out there up front to show how ridiculous it is.

The reason, basically is what you describe. Americans on these boards are incapable of admitting when a non-US fighter is good. Not all, but some.

I love british people I have british relatives. But british fight fans are different-I mean even throughout history - look at the Hagler minter fight.

I'm American and I think Joe is sick as hell. I also thought Nigel Benn's win over McClellan was one of the most amazing victories in history.

I say that we count up the wins and loses in title fights between u.s guys and the uk guys. Go way back in time and start counting. Going past to present its a blow out.

Ok then lets go from the fifties to now, ooops still a blow out.

Maybe from the 90's to the present, its closer but Id still say the us comes out on top.

The brits can fight, the europeans can fight and ofcourse the us can fight. 'nough said. But it does seem very very tough to get a fair nod from the judges when fighting in the uk or europe................Rockin'
