He was also a world champ at 21, won another title and became a millionaire so I dont think he's too bad. Like it or not he beat Winky Wright, beat Quartay, and lost to some heavy hitters but lost like a man and not a b!tch

Was it the steroids? His overly macho attitude? Too much too soon? Felix Trinidad?

He ended his career with three losses. Three ugly losses.

      Sad.

no chin is the story of his career

        Good topic,

I'll tell you what it was....... letting himself get well over 200lbs within a couple of weeks after every fight. Tells me he was enjoying life a bit too much between fights. The weight gain just got worse as he aged, for his last fight he came down from over 250lbs. you can't do that and still be at the top of your game. B-Hop is still around cuz he doesn't let this happen to him between fights. Genetics and metabolism have something to do with it as well. Fernando ate too many tortillas as a child.

yea the win. Check the record books. So there is surely a way he won. I scored Vargas 7 rounds to Wright's 5. It was a close fight that could have swung either way. Wright needs to learn how to not suck at 12th rounds and finish fights strong. That was a good fight, Vargas landed some sick body shots.
