    Fernando Vargas.....What are the lessons?

This is a guy who owns back-to-back wins over Winky Wright and Ike Quartey. Think about that.

by his 30th fight, and by 30 years old, he was done. Fried. Burnt. Shot to hell.

Was it the steroids? His overly macho attitude? Too much too soon? Felix Trinidad?

He ended his career with three losses. Three ugly losses.

    Sad.

      Yeah "win" over Winky. Ok.

He might have gotten a draw, but no way did he win.

I think it was his style. He came to fight and he fought guys like Trinidad, Mosley, De La Hoya, Mayorga, Winky, Quartey.

The steroids had an effect too, of course.

Trinidad became ****y after the Joppy fight. He thought he can beat the crap out of anyone in that weight. Trinindad should have been fighting at 147-154 only. Too bad. As for Vargas he was a good fighter. But was fed to the wolves at such in early age. He had no bussiness fighting the likes of Tito and Oscar that early on. But yeah could have been the steroids

How about the weight issue. He tried to stay at 154 for too long and it effected his performance.

It's a combination of both taking too much punishment and losing 60lbs fight after fight.......something Ricky hatton will have to worry about.

I scored the fight 115-113 for Wright.

I agree, but it's one of those clear but close fights. Like De La Hoya Mayweather.

He lost to Tito, DLH, Shane (x2), and Mayo. That's 5. But he became a star quickly and took on tough comp really early in his career, takin more punishment than a youngster should have. The weight thing don't help either. He's all class tho. Wish him the best.
