He didn't have an off night, he fought in the first fight just like in his other previous fights. That fight made Williams realize that he needs to mix it up and can't beat everyone with the same style.

Yes, like Marvelous Marvin Hagler vs Leonard, Mike Tyson vs Buster Douglas, SRR vs Lamotta, DLH vs Sturm, oh wait, he own that one, too bad Williams didn't have judges like DLH.

It wasn't an off night. He clearly overlooked Quintana, and Quintana got caught early. He has no legs!
        After the first fight:

Williams camp and himself say he had an offnight, he didn't train with any southpaws, he didn't throw more punches effectively, etc. Everyone was expecting him to blow Quintana out in the first fight and he was a Huge favourite.

        After the second fight:

Quintana himself said he was in the best shape of his life, even better the first Williams fight and the fight with Cotto, and he lost to the better man. Williams started early and trained with southpaws. Actually TRAINED for this fight.

You make your judgement... the first fight being a clear but close decision win for Quintana, or the second fight a totol blowout in the first round. I will take Carlos Quintana's word over anyone on these forums...

If cotto wins (and he will) then he has a new Top 10 welterweight opponent out there he has to take care of. Had Quintana beaten Williams again he wouldn't have to worry but it didn't happen.
No I agree with that, I was saying if Margarito loses to Cotto then Margarito doesn't get an immediate shot at Williams.

That still doesn't chnage the fact that Williams was totally confused about Quintana's constant movement which gave him problems. If Mayweather Williams were to ever happen, Mayweather would blast him. **** even a constant mover.

For what it's worth, he had harold ledderman score the fight for him (hahahahha).

hagler and leonard was 2 greats against each other. doesn't count. same as srr and jake. srr is leaps and bounds better than jake but jake was a great as well.

tyson didn't have an off night. he just couldn't beat buster that night. if he fought buster a year earlier or later it might've been a different story.

what makes you think sturm is not the greater fighter at 160? what would odlh's record look like if his entire career was at 160. beside he was out of shape.

big difference between out of shape and off night. at least for me.

Margarito should get a rematch with Williams if he loses, Cotto wouldnt fight Williams till he gets his name up there
Thats a bit of contradiction , how do you fluke 12 rnds and then say a single big punch which puts somebody on ***** street is proving he had an off night , somehow that doesnt sound right to me .
