As for the fight, it's difficult to call.

Arguello was an excellent, two handed boxer/puncher. He was a marksman with his power shots and often threw them behind a sharp jab. Arguello was also tough as nails and stayed composed throughout the course of a fight even when he was being pressed.

We all know about Mayweather. Excellent technique like Arguello, great defense, very smart and an above average puncher at 130. His ability to fire quick punches and move would help him offset some of that devastating power that Arguello is known for.

Floyd would be facing a better version of Genaro Hernandez. A tall technician with greater power. Arguello, like Hernandez, was a stand-up fighter. In a 12 round fight I could see Mayweather by close decision. Like AS said, Arguello had some trouble with boxers/movers like Floyd and I think he's good enough to avoid getting hit by a huge shot. He'd have to take a very cautious approach to the fight though.

Great fight to think about though. It would be highly technical and calculated.

Arguello is historically regarded as one of the best 130 pound champions of all-time, in addition to being a very good Featherweight and Lightweight champion. He has some of the best technique you'll ever see and he had explosive power. This is one of the best punchers of all-time we're talking about. He carried that **** all the way up to 140.

      Dude beat just about everybody:

      Olivares
      Navarette
      Bazooka Limon
      Escalera
      CBE
      Ramirez
      Manicini
      etc etc etc etc

The guy is an all-time great fighter. Read some books or buy some tapes. Barrera greater than Arguello? Come on now...

      Now add jim watts.

Yeah, but he said he was to small for Floyd. Even if he is leaner, doesn't mean he is smaller then Floyd.
