Let me put it to you like this.

There is a reason Joe, his father and his management want nothing to do with Pavlik.
He is strong, he is hunrgy, he can hit, and he has boxing ability.

They know that Joe cannot hurt Kelly and that Kelly can hurt Joe. So, they chose the percieved easier fight in RJJ.

Amazing! Just last year when JC tried everything possible to get Taylor in the ring (until Taylor wanted 10 million more than double availible) JC was accused of ducking Jones and Kessler to go after a "smaller" fighter who had looked bad against WW's instead of fighting Kessler and Jones who were calling him out.

Calzaghe just needs to ignore the message board haters and defeat Jones and he will be the top MW-LHW of this generation if not All-Time and the haters will have to deal with it, in denial of course.

Calzaghe, Hopkins, Jones and Toney are the best MW-LHW's of this generation and Joe Calzaghe will have beaten TWO of the other three and retire UNDEFEATED while the others will have several losses each.
