The difference is Calzaghe's career is nothing but mandatory after mandatory. This is the first easy fight Pavlik has taken in a while. Has Calzaghe ever had a string of opponents as tough as Miranda and Taylor back to back?

Read up on it, Roy has stated that at the time he was the man, and any fight had to be on his terms. Then he made his terms rediculous, knowing they couldn't be met. Same for Hopkins and Taylor.

All his (JC) opponents have been world class..the fact that they are mandatory means he has been fighting top guys. I look forward to Pavlik getting his arsehanded to him when the time comes. The yanks hyped Lacy as the best i the world.........that was one of JC's easier fights.......nuff said.

At least 40 of his fights were against European bums like Lockett. When you look at the long list of names on Calzaghe's resume that you've never heard of, just remember those guys are no better than Lockett...

Pavlik will have to fight mandatory after mandatory, that's the point of them. The organisation tells you who to fight, so you fight them, or they strip you.

The reason this is the first easy fight in a while is because Pavlik was a rising star who had to climb the rankings.

Says on there that Calzaghe was openly chasing a fight with Roy when he was at his peak, but I can't find an interview where Roy admits this is true, but it's out there somewhere. When I find it, I will PM you the link, or just post it in here.

well, Ive seen a number of Calzaghe's lesser opponents...guys like Branko Sobot, Tocker Pudwill, Kabary Salem, Ashira were just as bad, if not worse, than Lockett.

Thats why I dont really give a ton of credit for Calzaghe's 21 or whatever title defences...I mostly just look at his best wins, aka Hopkins, Kessler, Eubank, Lacy, Woodhall, etc.
which are very good wins.

I agree. But he says that 40 out of 45 of Joes oppenents are. I just ask him to proove that and provide me with 40 peices of evidence to back it up..

After all these are "facts" according to Sin so he shouldnt find it hard to proove it...
