If Pavlik wins, Arum better put him in with great competition next

Kelly Pavlik has to fight Lockett and Rubio because they are his mandatories.

If only the WBC would be as flexible with Pavlik as they have been with Mayweather, then he wouldn't have to defend the title for two years.

Or, Pavlik could arrange a fight with De La Hoya and the WBC could declare him Pavlik's mandatory, like they did for Mayweather with Hatton.

Or, Pavlik could just fight mostly either clubfighters, taxi drivers or smaller boxers, like Bernard Hopkins did during his years as middleweight champion.
