Sven Ottke was 34-0 and received at least 5 gift decisions against the same tomato cans that Calzaghe was putting away inside half a dozen rounds.

Calzaghe is 45-0 and has received only one questionable decision. Haters cry hometown decision but in reality, the fight was closer to his opponents backyard than his own.

I can't believe anybody would even attempt to compare the two.

    Joe Calzaghe IS P4P #1.
    Why is joe C p4p?

he was in a weak division and never left it...he doesnt deserve to be in the p4p over pacman...years from now people will remember stories of pacman he will have the aura of a badass...they wont remember joe c the slapper.

he never demanded tough fights...he never chased the tuff fights.

I remember when pacman was brand new on the scene in america all he did was demand the best 1 after the other he might of lost some but he fought them all...he was the first to fight marquez when everyone scared of him even PRINCE NASEEM avoided the **** outta marquez.

I think the Brits are infatuated with the 0 too much.

I reckon Calzaghe deserves it but Pacquiao will get it.

it's not just the brits. it's everyone.

the 0 means hasn't been beat. manny doesn't have an 0. i guess it looks better to be #1 p4p with an 0 because we got so used to roy holding it for so long with his 0.

Calzaghe is also one of the best counterpunchers in the game, and he got dropped too.

The fact is, a counterpunch is only seen at the very last moment, if at all.

The shots you don't see always cause the most damage, and by the very nature of a counterpunch the person it lands on is usually coming forward.

A counterpunch manipulates a fighters weight and movement to add more power onto an otherwise unsignificant punch.

ANYONE can be dropped by a perfectly timed and accurately thrown counterpunch.

Calzaghe's style isn't a come forward fighter, Calzaghe himself is a counter puncher who fights on the back foot. Thus explaining his average performance against Hopkins.

i know what a counterpunch is luke.

i was just trying to point out how everyone says manny is so awful that he can't box and stuff and how joe is a superior boxer.

joe is a superior technical boxer but this is not the amateurs. a point per punch doesn't count in the pros. manny is not a great technical boxer but he can fight.

Calzaghe fights on the back foot? serious you are just trying to work people up now he wins most of his fights by smothering guys with slaps and backing out he doesnt commit to any of his shots.
