Do you know how much pressure would have been put on him after the Cotto/Marg fight to man up? He had no choice but to retire or be ridiculed right until the day he died.
That one guy has stopped a lot of fights from happening.
This is true. GB's agenda sometimes does too much damage for the sport. Its more significant for the sport if Floyd were to fight the people who bring the best out of him. The same cannot be said of Smella Hoya.

I posted this in another thread but I'll post it here too:
what I am starting to think is that he doesn't want to deal with the backlash he gets when the Marg v. Cotto winner comes out and the people start calling for the fight even more.
ESPN said that he more then likely will NOT fight De La Hoya! Why would he do this? If he is risking this payday then it makes me think it's for good! If you weren't real about what you were saying then you wouldn't pass this up!
If he does fight DLH then maybe Floyd takes a vacation and comes back in a year or two to fight Cotto if he wins, if Marg wins he probably just stays retired. Too much risk and not enough reward.
I only see this as bluffing if he takes the DLH fight and if he doesn't then he is real about it.
Anyway, I'm not losing any sleep over whatever decision he decides to make
