see, there you go twisting **** around. i never said it doesnt help sell tickets. Mayweather only sells tickets to HIS fights. People only get interested in HIS fights. What he does isn't going to convince people to buy other fighter's PPV fights. How can a fighter only interested in growing HIMSELF help a whole sport grow? that doesn't make any sense.

So you're knocking him for doing something that no fighter has ever done? No fighter, that I can think of, drew fans to them or attention that actually translated to some huge surge in boxing.

surge in boxing or in HIS fights? thats what you arent understanding. of course its up to other promoters and boxers to do their part, but the fact that other PPV's stayed the same and only floyd's numbers increased support my argument.

Floyd helped himself, not the sport.

Do you honestly think those fighters brought some huge # of fans to watch boxing other than their own fights? Since Oscar's been fighting, has boxing been saved?

Tyson and ODLH might've been even more popular than Floyd (which I never suggested they weren't), but they didn't make people give a huge **** about other fights outside of ones that directly impacted them.

But who then, who has helped the sport that actually drew in a bunch of fans who stuck with boxing, not just their fights? Getting millions to tune into your fights is a start, and you can only hope they go elsewhere after their fight is over. You can't ask a fighter, any fighter; ever, to make every boxing match other than his own more popular.

when people say he's helped the sport, they always bring in the PPV numbers. After all, this is a business right? is that right? More exposure for boxing is what you guys say?
