Cotto vs Floyd should've happened post Floyd's win over Hatton. But he and his camp blew it out of proportion and made it seem like it was the holy grail of victories and "tried" riding off in the sunset, but a lot of people (even his fans) didn't buy it and waited for his next move (which not surprisingly was to retire).

I'd still love to see it, but the set up would still be a long while away. Cotto would have to be THE dude and 2009 is looking to be Cotto's comeback year.

We'll see what happens.

I dont think Cotto would be that difficult for Mayweather.

Really the only guys that would be interesting would be Paul Williams due to size, chin and output and Pacman due to speed, power and being a southpaw (remember PBF did drop a few rounds to Zab)

People really underestimate Mayweathers physical strength, his abilities on the inside and his stamina. They think that if he is in there with these physical guys like Margo, Cotto, Hatton ect he would just crumble over or something.

Also I rewatched some of the Castillo I fight, and he wasnt holding at all, he was letting Castillo get off punches on the inside and not doing anything about it and loosing rounds. He has corrected this mistake and you can see it in the Hatton fight, where he was great on the inside, he held and tied him up and when Hatton tried to wrestle he gave him the elbow.

Margo and Cotto just arent talented enough to trouble Mayweather. PBF is always in top shape and never has stamina issues. Those guys arent going to wear him down because 1. PBF is stronger than they expect and 2. they wont be landing much clean on him in the first place.


Of course having said all that, I would still love to see the fight actually made, it would be a good super fight.
