As for Donaire-Montiel. It's an interesting fight. Donaire is obviously faster, but his signature left hook wouldn't find the money very often because Montiel has good defense that blocks hooks.

When Maldonado kept charging foward he was able to find Donaire. Donaire still won all those rounds because he was outlanding him greatly, but still Montiel has good handspeed on the inside and is the best puncher at 115.

    It's a toss up.
I saw Gorres winning most rounds cept the final rounds in which he got kd and tired out. I personally thought it was a robbery cuz I was sure Gorres woulda gotten the decision.. And I am not alone in my contention.. I posted a couple of articles here from non filipino sources reiterating my thoughts that Gorres won... I know I am not delusional because I have Ring Magazine and Boxing digest backing me up... I wouldn't quite call it a robbery unlike those two sources but I did think Gorres won the fight easy.. Mexicans prolly would disagree with the experts and me. Montiels bloody and battered appearance compared with Gorres after the fight should be an indication of who landed the cleaner more effective punches through out the fight..Its cool

Montiel has been impressive of late against guys who are custom-built for him. Both Castillo and Maldonado were shopworn and stylistically built to walk into Montiel's punches.

Donaire is a different kind of animal altogether. Speed, power, boxing ability. He has an excellent Americanized style. Speed gives Montiel problems, like we saw with the Mark Johnson and Z Gorres fights. So does reach, like we saw in the Jhonny Gonzalez fight.

I'd go with Donaire by TKO10 or UD.

Montiel shines when fighting offensive fighters. Same goes for Donaire.

This fight will be frustrating because neither will initiate an attack. Donaire gets hit a lot when switching to offensive mode, but I'll be rooting for him.

I hope that fight gets made... It would be an exciting fight.. Donaire vs. Arce would be good too.. I think Donaire has 2 sure wins againts those two... A Mijares fight would be up the air for me.

Arce is a loss waiting to happen. The reason he won't be thrown to the wolves is because he is the biggest draw of the lighter divisions. Bob Arum won't risk him against anyone who isn't one of his fighters.

Montiel has a habit of not showing up for big fights.

Mijares is a tough fight for Donaire. Donaire has better speed and power but Mijares picks it up late and knows how to win those close decision.

Did you see Ndgoujo vs Myabe last night? Ndgoujo's left eye was closed and had a lot more facial damage, but he clearly won. Face damage doesn't mean that much because it was just from Gorres landing his jab.

To be honest, Gorres could have easily won that fight by using his jab and straight left and constantly moving. He was ****** and fought on the inside and got beat up. Gorres' shots mostly landed on the gloves for a lot of the rounds. The Ring Magazine and the Boxing digest don't mean much in this case. Even if they are credible doesn't stop it from being a clear Montiel win.

Round 1 was close too so you could have it 115-111 for Montiel. Still 115-111 for Gorres? Insane
