If Hatton was more disciplined in his weight control....

and not going up and so much in between fights, do you think he would still be the fighter that walked through, and over kostya? or do you think he has taken too much punishment? or is it something else? what are your thoughts on him declining at 29?

I definitely think it has hurt him. To what extent we'll never know.

Undoubtedly he would have more longevity. He used to have a pretty athletic style in his early/ mid twenties and he just isn't able to do it anymore. He is just a little older than I am and even I can notice how in your late twenties you can lose that raw vigorousness you have when you're younger if you don't look after yourself.

I actually think Hatton should have really tried hard to keep his weight down so that 135 would have been an option for him. He would have been a beast at that weight for sure, and would have built a much more impressive reputation.

Hatton has been the same throughout his career so to say that its only recently affecting him is nonsense, i think until he left Frank Warren he was managed badly and thought he was better than he is, i admire him for having the balls to move up to WW and still win belts but unless he gets over the nerves (which nearly made him lose to Lazcano) and proves his desire for the ring again then we will all have these questions i guess.

It would lengthen his career a bit but his style is not build for longevity.
